The start of our season of shared tours

The streets of Zagreb get busy and full of events in May. We like to join the buzz by offering our shared tours with the first weekend in May. This year, we're playing safe with our popular favourite Zagreb Ghosts & Dragons Tour. In addition to that, we are trying out something completely different by offering our The New Shore - Novi Zagreb area walking tour as a shared tour. Many travellers wish to explore that area, and don't know where to start from, or what to look for. A private tour is not always affordable, so we decided to offer you an opportunity to explore this part of the city with other like-minded and curious people who wish to get a taste of the real city. If you're planning to join us for the shared tours, purchase the tickets as soon as you know the dates of your visit because we already sold out some dates.

The New Shore vol. 2 - project

In the past two years, we've been putting emphasis on tours of the Novi Zagreb area. It is a part of our desire to contribute to expanding the interest of visitors to underrated, off the beaten path parts of the town, and help relieve the pressure from mass tourism in the historical city center. For these last two years, we've been receiving support from the City of Zagreb for these efforts. This year in particular, our plan is to publish an alternative guide book of the Novi Zagreb area. It will be an interesting book with contributions from the locals. That's why we run several free tours of Novi Zagreb area for the locals, in Croatian. The first such event this year took place yesterday. Enjoy the photo gallery.

Art at the south shore - a Jane's Walk event

We're still in Novi Zagreb area, this time as a part of a much larger initiative - our Iva Silla hosted a walk as a part of a global movement called Jane's Walk. It's an initiative that celebrates Jane Jacobs, a Canadian who introduced walks guided by citizen as a way for the residents to reclaim their cities. The movement has been active in Croatia for 11 years now thanks to Centar za kulturu Trešnjevka cultural center and Jane's Walk Zagreb. Our Iva participated in the first edition, when she co-hosted the Leafy Zagreb walk with Andrea Pisac of Croatia Honestly. Iva joined again this year, as we were searching for art around the grounds of Zagreb Fair in Novi Zagreb area. It was two hours full of discoveries, as you can see from these photos taken by Saša Martinović and Vanja Radovanović - two organisers and main enthusiasts of the Jane's Walk movement in Croatia.

We have been active since the start of the year, but we could say that the month of May marks the real start of the season 2026 here at Secret Zagreb. Are you visiting Zagreb this May? There are many ways to explore it in our company.

Two of our tours are available from May, all the way until the end of October, and that's Zagreb Ghosts & Dragons Tour and The New Shore (Novi Zagreb area early morning walking tour). In addition to that, we will offer our Badass Women on Zagreb on Friday 15. Purchase your tickets for tours in English here:

...AND A LOOK BACK INTO SOME COOL PROJECTS FROM 2025

If you're visiting Zagreb for a few days, and would love to join some of our tours, you will be eager to know our tours schedule. All of our tours are available as private tours, while we have some as public tours in English. Don't hesitate to book the date of your choice, as the group size is limited. Contact us to book a private tour all year round, while public tours are available from May to October:

But guided tours are not the only thing we're up to. We are trying to use our experience-crafting skills to offer something new to the locals, too, expand the tourist routes, and offer selfguided versions of some of our tours for individual exploring, so here are some announcements for this year, and an overview of our projects from the last one.

An Illustrated Pocket Guide

At the end of last year, we finished the project of a colourful tour guide book that contains four of our most popular tours. Our Iva Silla created the concept and wrote the texts, and teamed up with Igor Ivanović, a talented illustrator. Each location is accompanied by a full page illustration. The book can be read from the comfort of one own's home, but it works best if you let it take you on a selfguided tour. So far, we only have the Croatian version, while the English one is coming soon, in time for our season of public tours in May. You can already purchase a copy along with your tour ticket for a special price of only 10 EUR. When we meet for a tour, you will receive your booklet. It's a paperback on quality paper, so you can easily take it with you and explore Zagreb.

For years now, we have been offering a tour of Novi Zagreb. So far, it was a private tour, which meant that you had to book it for yourselves - this made it more expensive and harder to organise. It's time to change that - in 2026 we are organising the Novi Zagreb tour each Saturday from May to October, and it's a brisk walking tour to energise you early Saturday morning. Join a shared group of curious travellers and explore the area south of the river Sava. The tickets are already available for purchase.
