Interpretive Writers in Novi Zagreb
Last week, we organised the Certified Interpretive Writer course, licensed by the European organisation for heritage interpretation Interpret Europe. It was a rare opportunity to bring this excellent training programme to Zagreb, made possible through our project The New Shore, with the support of the City of Zagreb. The aim of the project is to publish an unconventional tour guide book of Novi Zagreb. The book will feature self-guided walks created by some of the course participants.
A creative group of participants gathered at the Zagreb Fair. They came from different parts of Croatia, with one participant from Serbia, making the event international. It was an inspiring start to autumn for all of us, coloured by the changing season and memories of the golden age of this part of the city. The timing also coincided with the 70th anniversary of the Zagreb Fair on the south bank of the Sava river, so we took the opportunity to visit the exhibition currently on display in the iconic Chinese Pavilion.
We’re already thinking about running the course again next year. Let us know if you’re interested or would like to find out more!

While we’re working on this guidebook, don’t forget that our first book In the Footsteps of Secret Zagreb is available in Croatian and English.
