There's a new travel app about to launch

Our sister project Croatia Underrated is developing a unique travel app, and the long process of collecting stories and preparing the content is coming to the end... that is, it will probably never come to its end, as we plan to add new content and improve the existing one over the course of time. However, we have enough to offer the app as an inspiration for your Croatian travels.

This July brought us a wonderful opportunity to lead a special walking tour in Croatian. The name of the tour was Ženski tok Trnjanske Savice (The Female Flow of Trnjanska Savica). Trnjanska Savica is a neigbourhood in Zagreb, on the bank of the river Sava, hence the flow. And yes, as the name says, we discovered the amazing female side of the neighbourhood in street names, women who have lived here, trees, and the very river that gently passes by.

The tour was a part of the project called Kvartovi kulture (Neihbourhoods of Culture) that takes place several times a year in different parts of Zagreb. It brightens up quarters with educational activities, workshops, theater plays, concerts, and other performances - it is always just one neighbourhood for the weekend. There is a tour of the neighbourhood, too, and this time, it was our time to share our enthusiasm for exploration. What a fulfilling experience it was for us! Such a fruitful exchange with the participants, so many curious facts uncovered. Plus, there was a game! To spice things up, we prepared some riddles for people to solve along the way. It wasn't easy at all, but it was so engaging. The whole thing was incredibly uplifting.

This is just the start of a beautiful friendship of Trnjanska Savica and Secret Zagreb, as we are preparing a selfguided gamified tour in collaboration with the neighbourhood council. The tour will be available in English, too, so we hope it will inspire you to explore this part of the city, completely outside of the tourist routes.

The hottest part of the Summer is here, and we had the heat in mind when we planned our shared tours. What can you do in Secret Zagreb in July and August?

Purchase our guide-book

We're putting this on the top of our Summer list because July hasn't even started, and a lot of our tour dates are already booked out. If you can't get a spot in our tours, this book will serve as a great substitute. The book is available in Croatian and English. It contains some of our popular tours, and you can use it to explore Zagreb on your own. Purchase it in Školska Knjiga bookstores. There are 5 bookstores in the city, and the most centrally located ones are Arkadija at the central square (Ban Jelačić square), and the one in Masarykova street, just next to the Croatian National Theater.
