Presenting our experience to stakeholders in Serbia
The Center for Tourism Research and Studies in Novi Sad regularly organizes lectures as part of its education and professional development program for both employed and unemployed people in the tourism sector. Last week, they organised an event titled Sustainable and Experiential Tourism for an Authentic Tourist Experience – The Power of Interpretation and Storytelling in Creating Unforgettable Experiences. For the occasion, they invited two guests from Croatia. You guessed it — that was yours truly – Iva Silla of Secret Zagreb, and my dear collaborator on many interpretive projects Manuela Hrvatin. The turnout was tremendous — representatives from the private, public, and civil sectors, as well as students, all gathered.
The two of us presented examples from our own practice and, of course, highlighted the points where our work overlaps and the projects we collaborate on. The event lasted a full two hours, which meant that each of us had a solid hour for our presentation. Although we could easily talk for much longer, I was afraid it might be too much for the audience. However, the many questions, compliments, and exchanges of ideas convinced me otherwise.
